Dennis launches an exciting new mower at Saltex on stand W58, developed with the help of its customers, who were invited to give their feedback when the design was previewed at BTME this year. The Razor Ultra 560 is an exceptionally versatile cylinder mower for applications ranging from golf greens and tees to cricket pitches and bowling greens. At the heart of the design of the 56cm (22in) cut mower is an 11-blade British-made cylinder, relief ground for a quality cut and long intervals between grinds, reducing downtime and boosting productivity. Effortless in operation, the Razor Ultra 560 has heavy duty independent roller and cutter clutches for smooth operation and two-section cast aluminium rear roller with steel geared differential; it offers easy pull back for accurate alignment of the next run. Manoeuvrability on tight, undulating greens is ensured by an ultra-short wheelbase. Adjustment is also a breeze, using ‘click adjust’ to select the desired height of cut. Dennis is renowned for the consistently high quality finish offered by its mowers and the Razor Ultra 560 can only enhance this reputation, using a Weile roller for that perfect cut and a powerful tungsten tipped groomer. The Razor Ultra 560 has high impact resistant acrylic guards and no stub shafts sticking out. This feature will appeal to all those Dennis devotees who gave feedback on the stub shafts – problem solved, no ankle cracking! Peace of mind is also offered with the use of the proven Honda Q9 low noise, low vibration engine. The innovative design team at Dennis has also developed two more new machines which will help groundsmen produce top quality turf. The S500 Plus combines aeration and overseeding operations. The 50cm (20in) working width spiker features a quick changeover reel for ease of use. The large diameter of the reel improves penetration, and can spike/slot and seed an average size green in 90min. The S500 surface aerates the turf allowing air, water and fertiliser to penetrate the root zone resulting in a healthier sward. With a slow uptake clutch system for smooth take off the implement is easy to manoeuvre into and out of corners. Ideal for all sports turf and ornamental areas, the Verticut TT encourages healthy growth by reducing the thatch layer, improving the sward and encouraging finer grasses to flourish. The Verticut TT has a 51cm working width and features replaceable tungsten tipped blades for a long life. Single point adjustment ensures that height of cut is easily changed and the Verticut TT has excellent sight lines for accurate operation.
