Dennis has the edge at Saltex

Dennis Mowers will present three exciting new products at Saltex on stand W58, offering groundsmen cutting edge technology for fine turf maintenance. Dennis is dedicated to working closely with its customers, and the latest mower to join the line up was exclusively previewed at BTME this year to allow the experts – those who will actually use the equipment - to have a say in its final specification. This has resulted in a machine suitable for a wide range of applications from golf greens and tees to cricket pitches and bowling greens. While the finer details are being kept under wraps until its Saltex launch, the design is promised to offer exceptional control and manoeuvrability in tight areas, the ease of adjustment for which Dennis is renowned and the robust build that turf professionals demand. Dennis also plans to reveal a new combined overseeder and spiker at Saltex. Capable of spreading and brushing in seed as well as aerating, the new implement will also feature a quick changeover reel for ease of use – a characteristic of Dennis’s range of mowers which has proved highly popular. With plant and machinery theft growing year on year, the company has come up with a useful way of securing pedestrian mowers. Insurers are becoming more insistent that equipment is properly secured in order to provide cover, and Howardson, of which Dennis is a division of, has developed a unique device to foil the thieves. The MowerSafe has a strong barrel lock with ‘anti hammer protection’. Weighing in at 122kg, when combined with the mower, the total weight is approximately 250kg which requires at least four strong men to lift. As an extra measure, the unit can also be bolted to the floor. Suitable for any machine up to a 61cm (24in) cutting width in its current version, bigger models are currently being developed to accommodate mowers with a cutting width of up to 91 centimetres (36 inches). Developed with Dennis’s expert knowledge of grounds maintenance equipment, the MowerSafe, which is making its public debut at Saltex, is sure to be of considerable interest.
