DENNIS HIGHLIGHTS BEST OF BRITISH AT BTME

Dennis maintains the highest traditional standards of British engineering, and at BTME 2007 the pro-active company will show precision equipment for greenkeepers and other grounds maintenance professionals seeking top quality turf and maximum efficiency.
Having a bigger presence on a new stand, M9, the manufacturer will highlight machines that have established themselves throughout the world at all levels of sport.
Versatility is the hallmark of the FT line-up. The innovative pedestrian machines accept 11 quickly interchangeable cassettes for mowing, scarifying, verti-cutting, rolling, slitting, brushing and other essential year-round tasks. Designed for smooth and low-vibration operation, FT machines provide maximum productivity from a single power unit. Honda engines are incorporated for performance and reliability.
Also on show will be the G860, part of a range derived from the FT series, but with a wider cut. Offering similar cassette versatility, the machines are designed to meet intensive usage from contractors and other professionals, and are lightweight and highly manoeuvrable. A cast three-section aluminium ribbed roller gives positive traction in all conditions and provides mark-free turning.
Illustrating Dennis’ skill of being able to develop solutions for users’ specific needs is the Sport Mk2 mower, which has evolved and been fine-tuned to give perfect results. This dedicated mowing machine has a very short wheelbase for precise performance even on undulating ground. An adjustable comb assembly lifts horizontal grass blades prior to cutting, for the ideal finish on golf greens and other fine turf.
A Sport Ultra version is scheduled for release in early 2007, incorporating a powered tungsten tipped groomer reel with a Weile grooved front roller to reduce the wheelbase still further.
Also a proven asset for golf clubs is the versatile S500 Powered Spiker, which slits the turf to improve penetration of air, water and fertiliser. An integral turntable enables 90 or 180 degree turns to be made easily, even in wet conditions, and the machine can be fitted with a Bray seed slotting reel, which makes flat-bottomed seeding slots at a controlled depth for optimum germination.
With so much on show, Dennis are looking forward to a busy BTME. “Having exhibited at the Show annually for many years, we know it not only attracts golf greenkeepers, but also football groundsmen, contractors, local authority personnel and other turf professionals. All will receive a warm welcome on our new-look stand,” says Managing Director Ian Howard.
