Dennis mowers are set to put in a winning performance at the European Football Championships, known to millions of fans simply as Euro 2012. Hosted in Warsaw, Wroclaw, Poznan and Gdansk in Poland and Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kiev and Lviv in the Ukraine, no less than five of the stadia to be used for Euro 2012 are brand new and purpose-built.

Committed to educating greenkeepers on how to maintain and look after bowling greens, Dennis and Sisis delivered two extremely informative, educational and interactive seminars to greenkeepers in Scotland and England.

Following their recent highly successful series of bowling green maintenance seminars in the north of England and western Scotland, Dennis and Sisis are pleased to announce their next seminar will take place on Wednesday 23rd May 2012 in Northampton.

The 2012 Dennis and Sisis Turf Care Seminar programme sailed into the Isle of Man with a very successful and well attended day at the Ballafletcher Sports Club. Dennis & Sisis were pleased with the event and their well proven format certainly drew in the crowds. Over 70 people attended the day which encompassed a mix of technical presentations and demonstrations ‘on the pitch'.

Dennis and Sisis are taking to the road again with their successful seminar format. This time they're giving groundsmen and greenkeepers on the Isle of Man an opportunity to attend a Turf Care Seminar at Ballafletcher Sports Club on Wednesday 21st March.

As club Head Groundsman and host Vic Demain, pointed out in his welcome, famous names had joined those that had travelled far to be there. Mike Atherton (Kings College, Isle of Man) Jim 'Jimmy' White (CricketWorld) and Roger Moore (Dennis UK) were amongst those who listened to a range of topical issues and information from supporters of the day.

Dennis & SISIS concluded their 2011 series of educational events with the recent Groundsman cricket seminar at Essex County Cricket Ground. With Stuart Kerrison, Head Groundsman at Essex CCC, as the host, the programme took on a slightly different format to previous seminars as it extended into the evening and included a floodlit tour of the ground.

The brands have been working in harmony since SISIS became a division of Howardson Ltd alongside Dennis earlier this year. Managing Director Ian Howard explains “Since January an enormous amount of hard work has been undertaken by all employed within the two divisions to ensure a successful and smooth integration of the brands. Saltex provides us with the ideal opportunity to exhibit and demonstrate a comprehensive range of British manufactured products”.

Racecourse parade rings are the sport's shop windows where punters pick out their fancy for the forthcoming race and connections greet their horse to celebrate a victory. Thus turf presentation has to be exceptional, and Leicester Racecourse is enjoying a winning performance from its Dennis G680 walk behind cylinder mower.

After a break of several years, the full range of SISIS products can once again be seen at Saltex 2011, this year being featured alongside Dennis Mowers. Their combined display will cover a significantly larger stand, together with a demonstration area to enable visitors to fully appreciate the two companies' customer-focused products.

Hollyfields Bowls Club has an interesting history: bowls players from the Dunlop Tyre Factory at Erdington moved to the ground in 1998 when their own facility was lost during the company's rationalisation. The club had been run by former British Gas workers, but had recently been disbanded, so fortuitously the green was ready for new custodians.

Northumberland Golf Club has been named as an open regional qualifying course from 2013, and the Dennis FT510 walk behind cylinder mower is a vital component of the preparations. The course, which originates from 1898, is a mixture of parkland and heathland, and was designed by James Braid and HS Colt.

Celebrating its centenary year in 2012, the club originally focused on croquet, but now has 116 bowls members. Maintenance of the greens is handled by contractors in the winter months, starting with renovation at the end of the season, and continuing with scarifcation, spiking and reseeding to prepare the playing surfaces for the new season. In April, a ‘greens team' from the club's membership takes over, including 2011 captain David Cruddington, working to a rota under the direction of greenkeeper Bill Bunn.
